5-Class Pistol Foundations Program
Journey Academy is not just another firearms class. It is a complete five-class training program designed to help new and developing handgun owners become safer, more confident, and more comfortable with the firearm they own.
If you have purchased a handgun but still feel nervous handling it, struggle with loading or unloading, are unsure how to clean or maintain it, or simply want more structured practice before heading to the range, Journey Academy was built for you.
Instead of trying to learn everything in one day, students progress through five separate classes, with each class building on the skills learned before it.
Your 5-Class Journey Includes
Firearms Manipulation I
Students begin in a controlled dry-fire environment and focus on the fundamentals of safe handgun handling. You will work on proper grip, sight alignment, trigger control, loading and unloading procedures, firearm manipulation, and becoming more comfortable with your handgun.
Firearms Manipulation II
The second manipulation class builds on the skills introduced in the first session. Students receive additional repetition, coaching, and new exercises designed to improve consistency, control, and confidence.
The goal is to move away from hesitation and toward safe, deliberate firearm handling.
Firearms Maintenance I
This class teaches you how your handgun actually works.
Students learn the major parts of a handgun, what those parts are called, how they function, how to safely field strip the firearm, and the proper process for cleaning and maintaining it.
Firearms Maintenance II
The second maintenance class focuses on repetition and independence.
Students continue practicing disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and function checks while tracking their progress.
Our performance goal is for students to work toward safely disassembling and reassembling their handgun within 30 seconds under controlled, unloaded conditions.
Basic Pistol
Basic Pistol is where everything comes together.
Students take the skills developed throughout the previous four classes and apply them during live-fire training at the range.
The program concludes with a 50-round qualification fired from:
3 feet • 5 feet • 7 feet • 10 feet • 15 feet • 25 feet
Students must achieve a 70% passing standard.

Flexible Recurring Schedule
Journey Academy is offered on a recurring schedule every Wednesday evening and on Saturdays.
You do not have to wait for one specific class cycle to begin.
Once enrolled, students can continue working through the five-class progression using the available Wednesday evening and Saturday class dates.
This recurring structure makes it easier to fit training around work, family, and other responsibilities while still continuing to move forward through the program.

The remaining balance is paid according to the Journey Academy payment schedule.
